As the number of inbound foreign visitors rises, so does the demand among international customers for real estate purchases. As there are currently no regulations or restrictions on foreign nationals purchasing real estate in Japan, demand is virtually limitless. At the same time, the supply is plentiful, with many property owners struggling with the issue of vacant homes. There is strong demand even for traditional Japanese houses and properties in rural areas—types of real estate that hold little appeal for Japanese buyers—and this demand is expected to continue growing for the foreseeable future.

 

However, the process leading up to the handover of a property in Japan is highly complex and steeped in industry-specific custom. Our aim at Tieaknot is to assist foreigners in overcoming language barriers and cultural differences to purchase and work with real estate in Japan, mainly in the Greater Tokyo area.
